Public Transportation Background
The Red Apple Transit is the public transit bus system for the City of Farmington. Beginning in 1999, the City of Farmington began providing bus services. Now has both fixed-route and demand response Paratransit services. The Red Apple Transit has enjoyed tremendous growth with an annual ridership expanding from just over 1,600 riders per month to over 11,000 per month. Routes have also extended to the surrounding San Juan County areas, including the communities of Aztec, Bloomfield, and Kirtland.
The Red Apple Transit contracts with Ride Right for the provision of drivers and daily operation of the system to include fixed-routes, and Paratransit services. Ride Right's professional staff also provides customer support through the contact line at 505-325-3409.
