Stan the T. rex is coming to Farmington

Farmington, NM - The City of Farmington announced today STAN the Tyrannosaurus rex, a dinosaur replica, is coming to the Farmington Museum. STAN is set to arrive tomorrow afternoon and will be installed in the new gallery behind the Petroliana exhibit. This is STAN’s second visit to Farmington; he was here for approximately six months in 2014. 

The city plans on giving STAN a formal welcome to the community which will include a grand unveiling, to take place when he’s settled in. 

Farmington Museum Director Bart Wilsey said, “The Farmington Museum is delighted to be able to host STAN the T. rex in partnership with the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. We are excited to have STAN back as he is the largest and most complete T. rex skeleton ever discovered!"

 STAN is coming from the New Mexico Museum of Nature and Science and will remain at the Farmington Museum through May 2020.  Details about the upcoming welcome event will be announced on the city’s Facebook page. For more information about STAN, visit
